How to check patta online in Tamil Nadu

Patta shows who the land belongs to in government records. Here is how to look it up before you pay an advance.

A patta is the revenue record that names the owner of a piece of land. Before you buy, the name on the patta should match the seller, and the survey number should match the sale deed.

The Tamil Nadu revenue department lets anyone view patta and chitta details online. You need the district, taluk, village and survey number, which the seller or agent can give you.

Check three things: the owner name, the survey and sub-division number, and the land classification (wet, dry or house site). If anything does not match, ask before going further.

We check patta for every listing and show the result on the property page. It is still worth a second look by your own lawyer.

We are property agents, not lawyers. Our checks help you decide; a lawyer's opinion is still the safest step before you pay.
